Ways to Give

Ways to Give

Throughout the state, United Way of Delaware works everyday to ensure that all of our children are receiving a quality education, students are reading on grade level by third grade, young people are developing skills and assets that lead to academic achievement and career success, all citizens have access to adequate healthcare, and families and individuals are financially empowered to thrive in our communities. To continue this great work, we need your help. Will you help us with a donation today?

Giving Societies

Tocqueville Society

United Way of Delaware’s Tocqueville Society was founded in 1991 to recognize individuals whose philanthropic generosity reaches extraordinary levels. These donors are exceptional community stewards, motivated by the desire to improve the lives of all Delawareans.

By making contributions of $10,000 or more annually, nearly 300 Tocqueville Society members ensure that we close the gap between society’s needs and the human service programs that offer solutions to those needs.

Young Tocqueville Society

United Way of Delaware’s Young Tocqueville Society was founded in 1999 as an initiative of the larger Tocqueville Society to attract new energy and vision to the benefits of philanthropy.

The Society is open to Tocqueville members ages 45 and younger. Its mission is to shape the future of philanthropy in our community through United Way of Delaware.

For more information about United Way of Delaware’s Tocqueville and Young Tocqueville Societies, please email ADT@uwde.org or call 302-573-3700.

Do More 24

On Thursday, June 1st, 2017, thousands of people will join together to create positive change in our community.

Do More 24™ is a local movement that brings together nonprofit organizations, companies, and people committed to making a difference. Through focused online giving on June 1, 2017, Do More 24 provides the opportunity for people to create solutions to our region's most difficult social challenges by determining which issues matter most to them and channeling their funding towards tackling those problems.

Powered by United Way of Delaware, Do More 24 encourages donors to contribute to the causes and organizations closest to their hearts to solve our region's most pressing challenges.

If you are a nonprofit and would like to participate in Do More 24 Delaware, registration will open early 2017.

Loaned Executives

Each year, United Way of Delaware is thrilled to welcome new faces and energy, courtesy of the Loaned Executive program. Loaned Executives, or LEs, act as account managers who work with UWD staff to plan and implement the annual Campaign. Corporate partners, such as DuPont, AstraZeneca, Delmarva Power and Bank of America loan several valuable staff members to the UWD team for approximately 16 weeks.

The benefits of the Loaned Executive Program include:

  • Improved communications, public speaking and leadership skills for participants
  • Increased visibility for your organization in the community
  • Valuable new business contacts
  • Increased awareness of your organization’s commitment to the community
