UNITED WAY OF DELAWARE HONORS CHEER, CHILDREN & FAMILIES FIRST, AND CHRISTINA CULTURAL ARTS CENTER WITH COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARD

Wilmington, Del. (July 9, 2009) — United Way of Delaware is honoring three of its partners for consistent dedication to the community:

CHEER, based in Sussex County, provides critical services to seniors to help them maintain their independence and quality of life.

Children & Families First is a leader in providing quality services to Delaware’s families and advocating for children’s needs.

Christina Cultural Arts Center makes arts education affordable and accessible to youth from low-income families.

This is the eighth year that United Way of Delaware has presented the Community Impact Award. Recipients must manage programs that have a measurable and positive impact on the community

“These agencies are inspirational in their dedication to the common good,” said Michelle Taylor, President and Chief Executive Officer of United Way of Delaware. “Their commitment to results exemplifies what United Way of Delaware is all about — creating lasting change.”
