Newark, Del. (June 2, 2009) — United Way of Delaware’s Giving on the Greens Golf Tournament, held on June 1, raised more than $19,000 for the Community Impact Fund. More than 80 golfers participated in the fundraising event, which was held today at the Deerfield Golf & Tennis Club in Newark

The Community Impact Fund supports more than 100 of the state’s most effective health and human service programs. It also supports United Way of Delaware’s five Strategic Focus Areas, which address the underlying causes of the state’s most pressing social problems.

“The need is visible now more than ever,” says Michelle A. Taylor, President and Chief Executive Officer of United Way of Delaware. “Giving on the Greens provides an opportunity to step out of the normal weekday routine and join with friends and neighbors in support our community.”
