UNITED WAY OF DELAWARE NAMES CAMPAIGN CHAIR
During the annual fundraising campaign, which kicks off on September 8 across the state, Dr. George will lead a volunteer force of business and civic leaders, all dedicated to making a positive impact in the community by raising public awareness and appealing to the generosity of donors
“United Way of Delaware is proud to welcome Dr. George as campaign chair, and we anticipate a challenging and successful 2005 Campaign under his capable leadership,” said Drew Langloh, president and chief professional officer of United Way of Delaware.
Dr. George and his team will use the fall fundraising campaign to continue advancing United Way’s mission to support Delaware’s critical health and human service needs, such as homelessness and hunger, infant mortality, mental illness, poor access to healthcare for seniors and persons with disabilities, and many more. Of special importance this year are donations to United Way of Delaware’s network of 111 full member agencies through its Community Impact Fund, a pool of funds aimed at effectively addressing these plaguing community problems.
United Way coordinates the charitable giving of individuals and companies and employees at nearly 1,000 Delaware workplaces every year, raising millions of dollars in support of its full and affiliate member health and human service agencies and Community Impact funded programs.
