Young Impact Professionals Society
The mission of the Young Impact Professionals Society (YIPS)
is to promote and facilitate a spirit of civic-mindedness and philanthropy
among the young leaders of the state of Delaware.
The Young Impact Professionals Society (YIPS) has been developed by United Way of Delaware to help strengthen its focus on young professionals and the unique “voice” they can lend for finding solutions to the plaguing problems within our community.
Activities will be identified and developed by the group’s advisory board, with assistance from United Way of Delaware staff, includes the following:
- a public “networking mixer” to recruit and engage other young professionals in YIPS working subcommittees
- a YIPS Speaker’s Bureau comprised of young leaders who are willing to make public presentations on civic involvement, United Way of Delaware, and overall community needs
- a series of large-scale, public, fun, YIPS events to engage young professionals and others in supporting United Way of Delaware and its Community Impact Fund
- Ideas/policy recommendations to United Way of Delaware leadership for better engaging young people in the annual fundraising campaign
2007 marks the inaugural year of YIPS, and United Way of Delaware aims to build its membership by enlisting the time, talent, and treasure of a roughly 20-member advisory group made up of some of the most committed and influential young leaders in Delaware.
