Mission, Vision & Goals

United Way of Delaware partners with social service agencies, businesses, government, other nonprofits, and concerned individuals to achieve results that matter and a lasting impact on the quality of life in our community.

By combining the generosity of individuals and businesses with the energy of people who care, United Way focuses community attention on the most critical human needs in Delaware.  We address both the symptoms and the root causes of our state’s most plaguing issues, and we leverage years of local experience and credibility to link people who need help with those who want to help.

To achieve its goals, United Way of Delaware seeks time, talent, and funding from the general public, as well as corporations and businesses. As a trusted community steward of these resources, United Way is dedicated to responsible and ethical behavior at all times, and to operating with one of the lowest operating expenses of any United Way in the country.

In 2006, United Way celebrated 60 years as Delaware’s premier fundraiser for health and human service programs in our community. For over 60 years, we’ve been committed to offering our generous donors an opportunity to make a lasting improvement on the lives of others.
